Hello! So did you catch the Moda Love Blog Tour last week? Each day Moda designers posted their version of the Moda Love pattern using their newly released fabric line, plus a little background on how they got started quilting and designing. It was amazing how each designer’s quilt looked so different. Bloggers were also encouraged to create a quilt from the “Love” pattern, and here’s mine!
You can download the free pattern here
and it’s available in 3 sizes, depending on if you use a layer cake, charm pack or mini charm pack. These quilts go together quickly using the precuts and the half square triangles, and it’s a good time to use up some of those precut bundles to make room for new ones! Check out the designer’s quilts here
for some great inspiration.
I used the mini charm pattern and Kate Spain’s Daydream fabric collection. I love the colorful, vibrant fabrics in this collection, plus I’m always a sucker for cute, little animals, and I have a special fondness for that psychedelic caterpillar!
Here is a shot of the back that I love as much as the front.
And my little buddy, the hummingbird, that I appliquéd to the center block.
This was quilted on my home sewing machine using the Serpentine stitch, spacing is a quarter inch between rows.
Think it looks pretty perfect above my fabric cabinet.
Hope you have enjoyed my Moda Love quilt. You can view more quilts from this pattern on Instagram at #modaloveblog.
Thanks for stopping by and happy, happy sewing!!
