My first two mini quilts are finished and already hanging in my dining room! Love these two mini’s by Fig Tree & Co. and if you want to make your own, you can find the patterns here.

The first mini I completed was Cherry Pie using charm packs and layer cakes from the Honeysweet and Avalon collections (Fig Tree & Co). The border is a 1″ checkerboard pattern, with a classic black and white pinstripe binding. The piecing on this quilt is super easy and I was able to complete this mini in a few days.
For my second mini, Canned Pears, I used Fig Tree’s fabric Mirabelle and Honeysweet, and there may be a little Avalon in there too. All of  these fabric collections play together nicely! The pattern calls for nine pears, but I only made six so it would be the same size as my Cherry Pie mini. Again, pretty simple piecing, and went together quickly. The checkerboard border is what takes the longest, but definitely worth the effort!!
For my backing I did a simple patchwork design from leftover charm packs.

I thought simple, straight-line quilting on the diagonal would be perfect for these retro minis, spacing them 1″ apart. Both quilts ended up measuring approximately 19 x 20 inches.

And here they are all finished and hanging in my dining room! I think those chairs below the minis are in need of some patchwork cushions, my todo list just keeps getting longer!!

WIP Wednesday

My WIP for this week is a sweet baby bib shower gift. I love working with all the wonderful baby fabrics on the market now, so fun!! This fabric is called Little Ark Friends by Carina Gardner. Need to add the binding and this little bib is done and ready for a soon-to-be in this world baby girl! More info on this in my next post!!

Hope you enjoyed my Peary Cherry mini quilts. I love both of them, may be my favorite quilting project so far!!

Linking up with Freshly Pieced and Let’s Bee Social and Fabric Frenzy Friday.

Thanks for stopping by!
